This presentation explores some of the ethical risks faced by legal practitioners when using commercial social networking services such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter or Yelp. In particular, the presentation concentrates on how to minimize ethical pitfalls in the areas of discovery, communication with the parties during litigation, and professional marketing.
Mihaela Popescu is an Associate Professor of Communication at California State University in San Bernardino. With Masters degrees in both Sociology and Communication Studies, and a Doctorate in Communication Studies, Ms. Popsecu has established a body of published research papers, has taught both undergraduate and graduate courses, and has received numerous awards and grants, including the Sony Electronics Faculty Award for Innovative Instruction with Technology.
