ICAP Meeting: Elder Abuse, Restraining Orders, and Eviction of Abuse Perpetrators

Attorney Andrew Turk will present on the subject of elder abuse, including the use of restraining orders to evict abuse perpetrators, and proper service regarding abuse by Nursing Homes.

Andrew Turk grew up in San Diego and attended the University of California at San Diego as an undergraduate. He received his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. Andrew practiced civil law for 2 years before becoming a Deputy District Attorney in Tulare County, California. He has been a Deputy District Attorney for 12 years, with 10 of those in San Bernardino. Andrew is the Elder and Dependent Adult Abuse prosecutor in the central division of San Bernardino and chairs the Central Elder Abuse MDT. He has prosecuted everything from murder to robbery to narcotics cases. Andrew teaches and gives lectures to various civic, community and governmental groups on various elder abuse topics and last year he had the opportunity to present two topics at the National District Attorneys Association symposium on Elder and Dependent Adult Abuse in Tampa, Florida.
